Tesla Launches New Powerwall Rebate for 2026 Installations

UPDATE: Tesla's Powerwall 3 Rebate Program is extended until June 30, 2026! 🥳

If you’ve been considering adding battery storage to your home, Tesla has introduced a new rebate program that makes installing a Powerwall even more attractive for 2026.

Tesla launched a limited-time rebate incentive on November 1, 2025 available to customers installing Tesla Powerwall 3 systems. This program runs through the first quarter of 2026 and provides homeowners with a direct rebate after installation.

How the Tesla Powerwall Rebate Works

This incentive is a true rebate, meaning customers receive money back after their system is installed and qualified through Tesla’s program. Eligible homeowners can receive:

  • $500 rebate for installing one Tesla Powerwall 3
  • $1,000 rebate for installing two Tesla Powerwall 3 units or a Powerwall 3 with an expansion pack

The maximum rebate per home is $1,000.

For many homeowners in Hawaiʻi, this amount can offset roughly two to three months of typical electric bills, making battery storage an even stronger financial and resilience investment when paired with solar.

📋 Who Qualifies for the Tesla Battery Rebate

The Tesla rebate applies regardless of how your system is purchased. Customers qualify whether the system is:

  • • Purchased with Cash,
  • • Financed through a Loan, or
  • • Installed through a Lease Program.

The key requirement is that the system includes an eligible Tesla Powerwall 3 installation.

🕑 Important Deadlines and Requirements

To qualify for the rebate, Tesla requires the following:

  • • The solar and battery contract must be signed on or after November 1, 2025.
  • • A copy of the signed contract must be uploaded to Tesla’s rebate portal by June 30, 2026.
  • • The system must be installed between January 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026.

It’s important to note that the installation does not need to be completed by June 30. The contract simply needs to be signed and submitted by that date to reserve eligibility.

How the Rebate Is Delivered

Tesla issues the rebate in the form of a Visa prepaid card, which homeowners can use just like cash.

Why This Matters for Hawaiʻi Homeowners

Battery storage has become increasingly important in Hawaiʻi due to grid outages, rising electricity costs, and changing utility programs. Incentives like this help reduce the upfront cost of adding storage while increasing energy independence and backup power capability.

Because this rebate is limited to contracts signed by the June 30, 2026 deadline, homeowners considering solar and battery storage should plan early to ensure eligibility.
