Journeyman Electrician
As a skilled member of the team, the EJ electrician will lead Malama’s residential PV solar systems installations. The ideal candidate will provide electrical expertise and leadership qualities that will contribute to the overall success of the project.
Responsibilities
- Lead a successful and well-functioning install team
- Prepare for the installation each day by reviewing the designs and bill of materials and packing for the job accordingly
- Completing projects within scheduled time frames
- Build residential PV and energy storage systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical component and system issues in AC&DC circuits
- Lead safety efforts for work best practices with the Field Operations team
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout entire install as well offering real-time updates on job status
- Document project, gather required photos, and update job status in the company database
- Perform other related duties, as assigned
Requirements
- A valid Hawaii state Journeyman Electrician License
- Ability to read plan sets and develop overall successful strategies to complete installs
- Understanding of NEC codes and grounding
- Ability to safely handle tools and materials such as: ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.
- Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, etc.)
- Position may require working at heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders and stairs
- Capable of performing repetitious duties, including lifting, bending and standing for long periods of time
- Experience using tradesman hand and power tools
- Basic computer skills required
