Malama Solar is a local, Hawaiian solar company, dedicated to finding the best solar solution for your Ohana. Our reputation as a top workplace in Hawaii helps us attract the best and brightest team members. Our expert install teams of licensed professionals complete most solar installations within 1-3 days, depending on the size and complexity of the installation. Install teams have two main roles: roof technicians and electricians. Both roles require OSHA 10 certifications, as well as extensive training in maintaining a roof’s waterproofing capabilities.
Roof Technicians
Roof Technicians are responsible primarily for solar panel installation. They are extensively trained in-house and start by laying out panels according to the custom blueprints created by our design team. They then place mounts and rails, attach the panels, and run all the wiring from the roof down to the ground floor. By using premium anchoring systems, Malama goes above and beyond what is required to make sure your roof is leak-free.
Electricians
Our Journeyman electricians then mount photovoltaic equipment and batteries to the home. Each electrician is required to be licensed by the state of Hawaii, ensuring safety and expert knowledge for every installation. Electricians wire the panels to electrical inverters and carry out the changeover, where your home’s main power will be routed through your new solar installation.
